Stonington Free Library is pleased to offer our patrons One-on-One Tech Help appointments every Tuesday. These trainings are designed to help familiarize patrons with common computer and internet functions in order to foster a greater level of digital literacy in our community. Sign up and join the SFL Youth Chess Club led by Karen Lindeborg! Players ages 8 and up will learn the basics of playing chess in a group setting. No experience needed. Registration is required. Sign up HERE. The group will meet every Tuesday starting October 1st until November 5th from 5:30-6:30pm.
On Wednesdays from 1-3pm knitters and crafters of all skill levels are welcome to bring projects to work on. This is a laid back meeting for knitting, sharing and asking for advice. If you would like to join from home via Zoom email stonlib@stoningtonfreelibrary.org.
Historic Stonington and the Stonington Como are partnering on a family program called “Build Stonington” led by architect Steven Schwarz, AIA. Schwarz has piloted this program in several other communities including Rye and Bronxville, New York. He has built streetscapes of the Washington Mall and Vatican City out of Legos and we are excited he is coming here

Amanda Martin currently serves as the Director of Programming and Training with Peace Corps in Madagascar, where she has worked since 2022. She has three decades of international development experience. She holds two master’s degrees in social work and Public Health, and a certificate in peace and conflict resolution. She is a Rotary Peace Fellow.
