Is your dog a friendly jumper?
Animal lovers and pet owners, please join us for a lively “Thoughtful Thursday” presentation in the Stonington Free Library at 5:15, on June 21. Gleanna Doyle is the owner of Rhodes Collar and Day School for Dogs that provides “services for pets and their families.” She will talk about a common pet behavior – dogs who jump when they greet your friends, guests, and neighbors. A “how-to” training demonstration will follow, focused on teaching a pre-selected dog/puppy not to jump and instead teaching it an alternate positive behavior: “Four on the Floor or Two Feet on the Seat.”
If you would like your dog to be the focus jumper in the training demo, drop your dog’s name, breed, age, gender, and description of its jumping behavior, along with your name and cell phone number, in the “treat” jar at the front desk of the Library by Monday, June 18. Special “doggy” prizes for all contributors.
Please note: Only the dog selected for the training demo is allowed in the Library for this event. This event is free and open to the public.
