OUTREACH

Library book bag

The Library is dedicated to expanding its reach beyond its physical walls. Library services, programs and collections are brought to community members who would or could not access them otherwise. Our outreach initiatives include story time and read aloud programs at local schools, a book group at a local senior living center, two Little Free Libraries, a small branch offering Library collections and services twice a month at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, and more!

LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES

Four Little Free Libraries have been installed at Stonington Point, Mathews Park, the Children’s Playground near the Town Dock and Wimpfheimer Park near the Velvet Mill. This effort was funded by the Stonington Village Improvement Association and built by the shop class at Stonington High School. The SFL will be stocking and maintaining them. They are registered on the Little Free Library website.

STONINGTON NON-PROFIT ROUNDTABLE

The SFL recently revived a round table gathering of the non-profit organizations in the Town of Stonington. The purpose: to share information, pool resources and collaborate on events. Several active subcommittees have formed. The full round table meets regularly at the library.

If you are interested in joining the round table please call or email us.
